PBR MN Fall Underclass: Event Preview

On Sunday, October 18, 2020; PBR Minnesota is headed to the West St. Paul Athletic Center to host one of the biggest events of the year; the PBR MN Fall Underclass. This event, exclusive to 2023 & 2024 grads, will spotlight two up-and-coming classes the state of Minnesota and surrounding region with a plethora of higher end un-committed prospects ready to shine.

The PBR MN Fall Upperclass has annually been an unveiling of younger prospects ready to make their mark in the prep ranks and to begin positioning themselves for future events and subsequent state rankings.
Class of 2023 left-handed hitting two-way player Michael Miller, will be attending the Fall Underclass event on Sunday. The catcher and right-handed pitcher out of St. Thomas Academy is one of the stronger players to keep eyes on this weekend. In the box, Miller starts with an athletic stance and controlled load. A simple swing that shows bat speed. Behind the plate the arm plays with 76 mph arm strength. On the mound, a slower tempo delivery that gets to an athletic balance position. A high ¾ arm slot and compact arm action. Fastball last sat 78-81 and topped at 83 mph. Average feel for a breaking ball and change-up. It will be interesting to see how much growth has been made from Miller come Sunday.
Another 2-way backstop that we get to see Sunday is 2023 Jack Taxdahl out of Cretin Derham Hall. The right-handed hitting catcher is solid both in the box and behind the plate. A tall athletic stance with an easy load and stride, flashes both bat speed and pop. A consistent 2.03-2.09 pop times with accuracy from his 72 mph arm strength. On the mound, a repeatable delivery from a high ¾ arm slot, compact arm action and arm speed. The fastball sits 78-79 mph, paired with a 64-68 mph curveball, and 71-72 mph change-up. We look forward to seeing Taxdahl Sunday.
