This upcoming weekend will feature a couple of notable 2020 grads at the Twin Cities Winter Open, starting with recent UMass commit, Nolan Tichy. The Orono short-stop is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed hitting infielder who runs a 7.07 60 time, has a 75 mph arm strength and 88 mph exit velocity.  The 93rd ranked player in MN has an athletic body type that can play multiple positions in the infield.

Another 2020 grad that will be in attendance is uncommitted Benilde-St. Margaret’s short-stop Zach Carden. The left-handed hitting short-stop is ranked 39th overall in the 2020 class. An athletically built 6-foot, 180-pound athlete has had some time since his last event due to injury.  He had a strong sophomore showing at events in 2018, with a 7.01 60 time, 84 mph arm strength and 88 mph exit velocity.  Coming off a knee injury in the 2019 season, Carden looks to be a late steal for someone at the next level.

This event is designed to allow players to showcase their ability; allowing colleges to identify prospective student-athletes earlier in the recruiting process or find players needed immediately for next year. Players will also be evaluated and considered for updated player rankings along with being considered for future Invite-Only events. The showcase will be featured on the Prep Baseball Report's website, which is subscribed to by more than 900 college coaches. Scouting reports, statistics, and videos will be hosted in player profiles. Top players will also be identified from this event.
