PBR: Why did you choose Minnesota St.?

McDONALD: I like the coaches, players, and location, and it's a good fit for me, socially, academically and as a baseball player. It's also a great opportunity to play in one of the strongest Division II baseball programs in the country.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

McDONALD: Winona State, Southwest Minnesota State, St.Olaf and NDSU.

PBR: Where did they first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?

McDONALD: Coach Magers and Coach Christ saw me at Legion games, two showcases and some prospect games.

PBR: What role do you expect to play your first year on campus?

McDONALD: My goal is to work as hard as I can to be the best college baseball player I can be.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

McDONALD: My dad, Matt McDonald, is the St. Olaf Baseball Coach. He has so much knowledge of the game and has taught me everything I know.

PBR: What have you worked on/improved since last year?

McDONALD: I've worked hard on my hitting. I've always taken pride in playing defense and being an aggressive baserunner.

PBR: Who is the toughest player that you have faced in Minnesota?

McDONALD: Ty Buck

PBR: What are your thoughts on the recruiting process? Any advice for future players in your position.

McDONALD: I met a bunch of great coaches in the process and it was fun to visit different schools.
