OUTLOOK
The Marquette Mustangs open the 2015 season as #8 team in the MHSBCA.  After a 24-5 record, a Suburban West Conference Championship and a District Championship, the Mustangs look to take the next step in 2014, a Final Four appearance.  The Mustangs will lean the broad shoulders of 6-foot-3 205-pound senior RHP, Sean McCracken to lead the way on the mound.  McCracken finished his junior year with a 3. 69 ERA and a 5-2 record in 36 innings of work.   Marquette will aslo feature a pair of senior LHP, in Jack Matzen and Brennan Barnes.  The duo combined for a 2-1 record with 20 strikeouts in 36 innings pitched.  Dan Covery, a Maryville recruit, will lead the offense.  Covert batted .381 with two home runs and 28 driven in as a junior.  Senior INF Charlie Kreh will be another middle of the order hitter, who batted .326 with a .430 slugging percentage as a junior.  Junior Evan Stoll will be a returner to watch for the Mustangs.  Stoll is a projectable 6-foot-3 180-pound OF/RHP with a max 90 mph velo from the outfield and on the bump.  The junior class has players that will make an impact as the season goes on.  The Mustangs will be a balanced team in 2015, with a good mix of seniors and juniors.  They will be a team to watch in the state playoffs.
