Championship Brackets Are Now Set

The Missouri High School Championship Brackets are now complete, with sectional round play beginning on Monday, June 20th

In the last day of District tournament play:
Class 5:
Francis Howell blanked Wentzville Holt 8-0 to claim the District 8 title. Calvin Munson shut down the Holt lineup, allowing only two hits and striking out eight. Munson also added a two run double in the first inning to help his cause. Zac Perkins had a perfect 3-for-3 day, with three stolen bases and Elijay Dilday hit his seventh homerun of the season, a two run shot in the fifth. 

Class 4:
In District 3, Lutheran South defeated Windsor 2-0, and will face Westminster in a rematch of last years Class 3 championship (both schools now Class 4).  Dirk Otterstein and Danny Strohm combined for the shutout, scattering seven hits and relying on a sturdy defense behind them. Trey Martin had a RBI single in the first and Otterstein helped himself with a run scoring single in the fifth. 

Class 3:
Holden blanked Sherwood 5-0 to take home the District 14 title.  Dylan Riley tossed a shutout for Holden allowing five hits striking out nine. James Brownsberger went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Riley helped himself going 2-for-4 with a double and driving in a run. 

Class 2:
In District 10, Hartville beat up on upset minded Norwood 11-3. 

Class 1
Linn County got by South Nodaway With Jefferson 2-1 to claim the District 16 championship and advance.
