Class 5

Poplar Bluff 3, Sikeston 1
A double in the third inning becomes the game winner in this pitching duel between Poplar Bluff and Sikeston. Poplar Bluff’s Brandon Stuckenschneider went six innings allowing only two hits while striking out five Bulldogs. Doug Still threw a complete game for Sikeston, only giving up one earned run on five hits. Kameron Misner was the hitting start for the Mules, he went 1-for-2 on the day, but drove in all three runs. Colton Black went 2-for-4 and drove in the only run for the Bulldogs.

Marquette 12,#2 CBC 11
Tyler Wood and Matt Scheible hit home runs for Marquette outlasting CBC 12-11.  Marquette took control early scoring 10 runs in the first two innings.  Jake Burger's grand slam put CBC up 5-4 in the top of the second, but Marquette answered with six runs in the bottom half of the inning.  Stephen Haring's three-run double in the thrid knotted the score at 10-10, but Scheibel's lead off home run in the 4th give the Mustangs the lead for good.  Jack Matzen earned the win for Marquette recording five strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched.

Oak Grove 4, Warrensburg 3
Oak Grove tops Warrensburg in this back and forth battle. The Panthers offense piled up 17 hits in the game, but were only able to plate four runs. Oak Grove’s Austin Nibarger tossed a complete game allowing only six hits while striking out seven Tigers. Cody Roop also threw a complete game for Warrensburg, weaving out of jams all day long and receiving help from his defense. Kye Denker went 2-for-3 for Warrensburg. Dakota Hearn went 4-for-4 and Drew Phillips went 3-for-3 for the Panthers. Tony Phillips, Austin Nibarger, and Lucas Schnelle also had multi-hit games for Oak Grove.
