Missouri 2023 Class Rankings Story

Kevin Moulder
Missouri Scouting Director

The Missouri 2023 class is shaping up to be one of the more talented classes the state has ever produced and is recognized nationally as having many of the top players in the country. The class already features 35+ committed players with many more expected to soon follow. The updated rankings feature over 50 new players entering the 250 player ranking, while also seeing a number of players shoot up the rankings. Below we highlight the number one ranked player, the new comers, some of our big risers, top uncommitted, the top 10 and the complete Missouri 2023 class rankings.

The Top

Adam Hachman LHP / Timberland, MO / 2023

The state top ranked player is a standout on the national stage as well and will be one of the more heavily scouted prospects for the 2023 draft class. A quickly and still developing body and talent, Hachman has grown a couple inches and added 30 pounds of muscle over the past 18 months and with that has seen his velocity jump from 81-84 at the 2021 Future Games to 93-97 at his first living outing of his junior season. To go with the fastball he has a good feel for a plus changeup that has good depth and thrown with arm speed and a sharp 11/5 o'clock type breaking that is a swing and miss pitch ball as seen below.

Nazzan Zanetello SS / Christian Brothers College, MO / 2023

One of the more exciting prospects to follow in the MO 2023 class Zanetello has an electric tool set. A fast twitch athlete who is a plus runner and has the ability to play multiple positions defensively. On the infield he is a rangy defender with a strong throwing arm (90+) across the diamond while also showing the ability to play CF at a high level. Offensively he demonstrates plus bat speed and can drive the ball with power. Zanetello also tops out at 90 mph on the mound with a good feel for his curveball.

College: Uncommitted

Wil Libbert LHP / Blair Oaks , MO / 2023

Perhaps the top returning impact player for his team in the state. Libbert is a 2-way standout for Blair Oaks as a #1 starting pitcher and also CF while hitting in the middle of the lineup. The mound is where his future lies and is coming off a major offseason of progress seeing his velocity jump from upper 80's, touch 90 to now topping out at 94 mph. Libbert has a plus changeup and has developed a 12/6 curveball as a put away pitch.

The Risers

Seth Benes RHP / Liberty-Wentzville, MO / 2023

One of the top performers at the MO Preseason All-State, Benes has clearly had a strong off season. WIth a jump in velocity and a sharp breaking ball the right hander will be attracting plenty attention as one of the top uncommitted talents in the state.

Denton Biller RHP / Mid Buchanan, MO / 2023

One of the top uncommitted arms in the state. Biller a projectable arm that has shown well at multiple events including last summers Futures Games.

Connor McCaleb RHP / Timberland, MO / 2023

A 6-1 right hander with a compact delivery and a 3/4 arm slot showing an upper 80's fastball topping out at 89. He has the ability to command two off speed pitches (CH/CB) with the curveball showing swing and miss potential with 1/7 sharp break.

Uncommitted

Parker Guthrie SS / RHP / St. Louis University , MO / 2023

A 6-2 L/R two-way talent that had a strong showing at the Gamers scout day. Has some natural lift in his swing that produces a lot of hard hit line drives and well hit fly balls during BP (low-mid 90's TrackMan exit vlo). Guthrie is also an intriguing arm to follow with an athletic quick arm that topped out at 88 mph while also showing a good feel for his curveball.

Uncommitted

Top New Comers

Caleb Oligschlaeger RHP / C / St. Elizabeth R-IV, MO / 2023

Impressed at the Warriors scout day with his arm from both the mound and behind the plate.

 Uncommitted

Garrett Shearer RHP / Saint Louis University, MO / 2023

New to the Missouri rankings, a right hander with a live arm and upper 80's fastball to go with a pair of quality off speed pitches.

Uncommitted

Dylan Hayman OF / 3B / Jackson, MO / 2023

An outfielder for one of the top teams in the state (Jackson) Hayman is a bat to keep an eye on in the 2023 Missouri class. A standout performer at the Bootheel Preseason ID with an impressive showing during BP showing 93 mph exit velocity on the TrackMan with above average bat speed during his round filled with consistent loud line drive contact.
