Baseball is officially underway in the Show-Me state with several game played this weekend.  We will highlight performances throughout the season on the Daily Round-up, and for a more in-depth scouting report, go to the Missouri Scout Blog.  

Several key match-ups in Class 5 to watch on Monday
#2 Francis Howell (3-0) vs. Holt (3-0)
#3 CBC (2-1) vs. #10 De Smet (2-1)
Liberty (2-0) vs.#6 Rockhurst (2-0)
Blue Springs (2-0) vs. #9 Raymore-Peculiar (3-0)
Liberty North (0-1) vs. Smithville (0-3)
Timberland (3-0) vs. Fort Zumwalt South (2-1)

Top Weekend Performances

+ Avery Jennings (Rock Bridge, 2016) hit a grand slam, driving in a total of six runs, and recorded a save to help the defending state champions to a 2-0 start. 

+ Erik Miller (De Smet, 2016) the Stanford commit allowed no hits and struck-out nine in a 10-0 win over Troy.  Miller gets the mound against #3 CBC Monday.  

+ Trey McDaniel (Greenville, 2017) worked six innings on 75 pitches.  He struck out 13 batters and walked two in a 4-0 win over Mt. Liberty.  Devon Duncan struck out 10 and walked two in a four inning win over Alton. Duncan also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a single, double, triple and a walk along with three RBI.

+ Hunter Dame (Conway, 2016) blasted two home runs and finished with seven RBI in double header, leading the bears to a 2-0 start 

+ Jake Bartshe (Liberty North, 2016) and Kyle Wilson (Raymore-Peculiar, 2015) hook up in a classic pitchers dual.  Ray-Pec won 1-0 in eight innings. Bartshe finished with 10 strikeouts in six innings, Wilson recorded seven strikeouts in four innings.  Evan Rathburn (Raymore-Peculiar, 2015) earned with win working in relief.  Rathburn also turned in a 4-for-4 performance at the plate in an 11-0 win over Park Hill. 

+ Andrew Kleiboeker (Lee's Summit North, 2016) collected four hits, including two home runs and a double, with five RBI in eight at-bats over the weekend.  

+ Trever Lewis (East Carter, 2015) finishes the weekend with a home run and eight RBI at the plate and earned a win on the mound. 

+ Connor Basler (Valle Catholic, 2016) collected four hit and worked six inning on the mound for a win to help the Warriors to a 3-1 weekend.
