Player Spotlight: SS/2B Logan Andersen (Ft. Zumwalt West, 2015)

SS/2B/MIF Logan Andersen is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound SS/2B. Defensively, he has good footwork and a quick exchange with very accurate throws across the field. He throws from a ¾ arm slot and has a positional velo of 77 MPH. At the plate, Andersen has a smooth simple load and a level bat path with good extension. He has a gap-to-gap approach with signs of power to his pull gap. He has an exit velo of 93 MPH. Andersen ran a 4.50 home-to-first.

We recently had a question/answer session with Logan Andersen. Here are his responses:

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Andersen: SIUE, Ohio University, Xavier, SEMO

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools and how recently?

Andersen: I visited SIUE a couple weeks ago. I’m thinking about visiting others.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?

Andersen: No…just want to play D1 baseball for a quality program, where I have a legitimate shot to play as a Freshman.

PBR: How did you do your Junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Andersen: I had a good Jr year. .390 avg, .690 slg, 100 ab, 39 hits, 14 doubles, 2 triples, 4 hr, 35 RBI. I was awarded 1st team GAC South, 2nd team all-state. FZW had a good season. Unfortunately, we lost our first playoff game.

PBR: What are your goals for your senior season?

Andersen: .430+ avg, 750+ slg, 7+ hr, less than 5 errors, make 1st team all-state, and 1st team all-metro.

PBR: What travel team do you play for?

Andersen: St. Louis Pirates

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Andersen: Football

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Andersen: GPA 3.50, taking the ACT in September.
