Player Spotlight: 3B/RHP Dalton Lanpher (Rockhurst, 2016)

Dalton Lanpher (Rockhurst, 2016) is a 6-foot-1 195-pound 3B/RHP.  He is a athletic player that showed well at the Class of 2016 Games on June.  Lanpher posted an 88 mph exit velo, a 79 mph positional velo and ran a 7.44 60.  As a pitcher, he had one of the top velos of the day at 87 mph.

Lanpher and the Hawklets were district champions, but fell to Lee's Summit West in the State Sectional.  Lanpher is currently playing for Building Champions and preparing for his final season of high school. 

Here is a look inside the recruiting process of Dalton Lanpher. 

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Lanpher: I'm looking for a great baseball program that will prepare me for the next level. Also a good academic school.

PBR: Recap your junior season for us at Rockhurst.  Name some players that played a key role for Rockhurst in 2015.

Lanpher: My Junior season at Rockhurst was a good season for me. Some players that played a key roll are Luke Ritter, Tyler Benninghoff, and Ben Whetstone. These three were great team leaders and had amazing batting averages.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Lanpher: My goals for my senior season are to be a team leader and to help the team get not only a district championship but also a state title.  

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Lanpher: I play for Building Champions. And I am playing fall ball with the same team.  

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Lanpher: No

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Lanpher: My ACT is a 16 and I plan on taking it a couple more times to improve it. My GPA is a 2.5 and it is also going up after my senior year.
