Player Spotlight: C Caleb Lauvetz (Rockhurst, 2016)

Caleb Lauvetz (Rockhurst, 2016) is a 6-foot-2 215-pound starting catcher at Rockhurst.  Lauvetz has an 86 mph exit velo and sub-two pop time.  At the plate, he had a gap-to-gap approach, and a toe tap to load.  He has a level bat path to extension.  He runs a 7.23 60, and has a time of 4.34 home-to-first.

Recently, Lauvetz attended the Class of 2016 Games and will be playing for Building Champions Baseball Academy this summer.  Here is a look into what Lauvetz has going on. 

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Lauvetz: No visits yet

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Lauvetz: High academics are a big priority. I would go anywhere.

PBR: Recap your junior season for us at Rockhurst.  Name some players that played a key role for Rockhurst in 2015.

Lauvetz: We had a great year at Rockhurst. Tyler Benninghoff, Ben Whetstone, Luke Ritter, Jon Wemhoff, and Dalton Lanpher all played major roles this year.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Lauvetz: We hope to win our district and have a chance to win  the first state championship in baseball for Rockhurst.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Lauvetz: I play for Building Champions in the summer and fall.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Lauvetz: No

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Lauvetz: ACT 29 GPA 3.1
