Player Spotlight: RHP Jack Adams (Kirkwood, 2018)

Jack Adams (Kirkwood, 2018) is a 6-foot2 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class and he recently attended the Top Prospects Games -St. Louis in June.

Adams was 82-85 mph with fastball, occasional cutting action, his breaking ball  ranges from 63-65 mph breaking ball, gradual break, and flashes a 68-70 mph slider with late break.  Adams has a smooth delivery, high three quarters arm slot, high leg lift with slight hip rotation at balance point.

Adams earned first team All-Conference honors this spring and finished the season with 1.50 ERA.  Here is a look inside the recruiting process for Jack Adams

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Adams: High Academics Medium/Large City/Suburban setting.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Adams: I had a good year, #1 pitcher for Kirkwood High School  with four complete game shutouts. One complete game shutout against Summit and Jackson Rutledge. I had two one hitters. Our team was 16- and my ERA was around 1.50. I led metro area in shut outs and earned 1st team all-conference.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Adams: Maintain an ERA under 1.50, continue to develop increased command of offspeed pitches and continue to build fastball velocity.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Adams: I play for the Midwest Surge 17u Blue. I am unsure of fall ball commitment at this time.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Adams: I ran cross country freshman-junior year, but I am not running in the upcoming fall to make room to improve in baseball.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Adams: My ACT score is 34 and I have 4.217 GPA
