Connor Basler (Valle Catholic, 2016) is a 6-foot-1 190-pound SS/RHP, and helped the Warriors to back-to-back state championships this season in Class 2.  Basler is a sub-7 runner with a positional velo of 78 mph.  He recently attended the Class of 2016 Games in St. Louis and is currently playing for the Missouri Outlaws this summer.

Basler recently gave us an inside look at his recruiting process.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Basler: I have not taken or scheduled any visits at this time

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Basler: I am looking for a good academic college that has a good history with the sporting program.

PBR: Describe the atmosphere at T.R. Hughes for the Class Four State Championship. What were your high school statistics? Name some players that played a key role in Valle Catholic's success.

Basler: The atmosphere at TR Hughes was unbelievable.  Anytime we get to play on a big stage, in front of a big crowd, is always the best and most fun.  My stats this year were .505 average, 19 stolen bases, 1 strikeout, 21 RBI, 20 BB, and .576 OBP.  Pitching, I was 6-1 with a 0.571 ERA and a 1.061 WHIP.  Dan Bergtholdt, Andy Grieshaber, Andrew Basler, and Koltyn Schilly were some key players on this years team that helped give us a state championship.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Basler: Some of my goals for senior season are to bat .550 with at least 20 stolen bases, 2 home runs, and a .600 OBP.  Pitching, I want to have a perfect record, 0.500 ERA, and win another state championship.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Basler: My summer team is the Missouri Outlaws from Park Hills, MO.  I am not playing fall baseball this year.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Basler:  I also play football and basketball.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Basler: My ACT right now is a 19 and GPA is 3.2
