Prep Baseball Report Missouri held the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day on February 18 at All-Star Performance in St. Louis, Missouri. Nearly sixty players participated in the 2022 to 2018 classes.

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance. 

Players can now updated their profiles with a 
ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on ScoutPlus.

Here is a closer look at the catchers from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

Catchers

Carson Dubach C / SS / Edwardsville, IL / 2021

Dubach is a 5-foot-7, 140-pound, left-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.44 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 85 mph. At the plate, Dubach starts in an upright and open stance, quiet load, rhythm with hands, in line stride, controls barrel, extension through the baseball. Defensively behind the plate, showed good actions, quick catch to release, over the top arm slot, positional velo of 67 mph, mostly accurate throws, pop times between 2.07 and 2.19 seconds.

Max Eastman C / 3B / Ladue, MO / 2023

Eastman is a 5-foot-10, 215-pound, switch hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2023 class. He ran a 4.63 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 85 mph. During batting practice, Eastman showed similar loads from both the right and left sides, minimal and in line strides, quick hands, extension through baseball, solid contact during round. Behind the plate, balanced set up, quick transfer to release, longer arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 64 mph, fairly accurate throws, pop times between 2.21-2.34 seconds.

Brayden Eftink C / RHP / Notre Dame, MO / 2020

Eftink has a strong and stalky build at 6-foot, 195 pounds and is a left-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.35 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 98 mph. During batting practice, Eftink starts open, smooth knee pinch into load, quiet hands, in line stride, loose hands, feel for the barrel, level bat path, showed hard contact and pop throughout round. Behind the plate, athletic and strong build, quick transfer to throw, momentum towards target, throws ball with carry at 78 mph, accurate throws, pop times between 2.01 and 2.08

Nate Gardner C / 3B / Mehlville , MO / 2020

Gardner is a 6-foot, 175-pound, right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. At the event he ran a 4.50 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 85 mph. During batting practice, Gardner has some rhythm with hands, in line stride, leverages up front side, level bat path, showed gap-to-gap contact during round. Behind the plate, Gardner’s set up has a narrow base, clean transfers, momentum towards target, over the top release, positional velo of 71 mph, fairly accurate throws, pop times between 2.11-2.30 seconds.

Nate Kemp RHP / C / St. Dominic , MO / 2022

Kemp is a 5-foot-11, 178-pound, right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 5.31 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 81 mph. During batting practice, Kemp negative toe tap into load, quiet hands, open stride, level bat path, pull side contact during round. Behind the plate, balanced set up, quick transfer to release, short arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 69 mph, pop times between 2.02-2.26 seconds.

Tony Lindwedel C / OF / SLUH, MO / 2020

Lindwedel is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. At the event, he ran a 4.25 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 93 mph. During batting practice, Lindwedel starts with an open stance, toe tap in to load, across his body with stride, some rhythm with hands, some lift in the swing, remains balanced throughout, produced hard contact during round. Behind the plate, athletic set up, good actions, quick over the top release, strong arm with carry, positional velo of 78 mph, pop times between 1.90-1.99 seconds.

Andrew Loeffelman C / 1B / SLUH, MO / 2021

Loeffelman is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound, right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.40 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 86 mph. At the plate, Loeffelman starts with a simple and athletic stance, quiet load, rhythm with hands, in line stride, repeatable swing, during round Loeffelman showed feel for the barrel and sprayed hard line drives. Behind he plate, Loeffelman starts in a balanced set up position, fluid footwork, clean transfers, three-quarter arm slot, positional velo of 67 mph, accurate throws, pop times between 2.19 and 2.27 mph.

Carson Ohland C / 3B / Lafayette, MO / 2023

Ohland is a 5-foot-10, 140-pound, switch hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2023 class. He ran a 4.31 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 84 mph. During batting practice, from both sides Ohland showed simple knee pinch loads, loose hands, repeatable swings, good extension with hard contact. Behind the plate, Ohland has good actions, soft hands, moves well laterally, momentum towards target, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 70 mph, fairly accurate throws, pop times between 2.06 and 2.19 seconds.

TJ Racherbaumer C / 3B / Hermann , MO / 2021

Racherbaumer has a stalky build at 5-foot-9, 185-pound, left-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.59 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 92 mph. During batting practice, starts with an open stance, small leg lift into load, quiet hands, aggressive swing with extension, mostly pull contact with some elevation during round. Behind the plate, good actions, quick over the top release, moves well laterally for this size, soft hands, at the event positional velo of 75 mph with carry, pop times between 1.90-2.02 seconds.

Logan Schweigert C / SS / O Fallon Township High School, IL / 2020

Schweigert is a athletic 5-foot-9, 175-pound, right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.68 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 88 mph. During batting practice, Schweigert starts open, simple weight shift back to load, short and in line stride, loose hands, quick bat, level bat path, repeatable swing. Behind the plate, quick actions, momentum towards target, over the top release, positional velo of 74 mph at the event, accurate throws, pop times between 1.99-2.15 seconds.
