St. Louis Gamers Scout Day: Infield Analysis

On Monday, Feb. 17, PBR Missouri held the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day at the All-Star Performance facility in St. Louis. Roughly 60 prospects were in attendance, representing every high school level and we also saw a handful of 2024 graduates showcase their skills in front of our staff.
Soon after the event’s conclusion we released an instant analysis, highlighting some of the top statistical performances of the day.
We kicked off our position-by-position breakdown on Monday with the catchers and followed that up by analyzing the outfielders yesterday. Today, we take a deep dive into the infielders who participated in this event.
We already highlighted Aaron Moss (2021; Lindbergh) in the catcher analysis, but his performance warrants another mention in this recap, too. Moss swings a quick bat and elevates the baseball with ease. He also has premium arm strength that plays all across the diamond, but especially in the infield, where he topped the infield velocity leaderboard at this event. Moss truly has elite athleticism that excels behind the plate, in the field, and on the bump.
Trevor Quick (2021; Seckman) is a top-50 prospect in Missouri’s 2021 class that impressed at this event. Still uncommitted, Quick took a strong round of batting practice and showed sound defensive actions that suggest he’ll stick up the middle moving forward. He’s one of the top infield prospects still on the market in his class.
Tyler Macon (2023; Kirkwood) is a switch-hitting middle infielder with sneaky gap-to-gap pop in his bat and well advanced defensive actions that allow him to slow the game down in the field. His glove is already there, and as he continues to make improvements at the plate, Macon is quickly emerging as a name-to-know in Missouri’s freshman class.

Body: 5-foot-9, 155-pounds. Slender and athletic frame
Defense: Showed above average hands and active footwork in the field.
Arm: Right-Handed INF - 79 mph. Shows different arm action in the back coming through different slots depending on the play.
Hit: Right-Handed Athletic stance with rhythm. Slight kneed knock leg kick, rhythm and movement in the hands. Gets off the back side with quality leg dive. Flat path to contact through a two handed finish.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity in BP. Showed some pop with an all fields line drive approach.
Run: 4.59 runner home-to-first. Smooth runner.
Jase Aycock, East Prairie (IL), 2022
Positional Profile: SS
Body: 6-foot-0, 150-pounds. Lanky frame.
Defense: Shows active and slightly above average footwork, aggressive through the ball with average hands.
Arm: Right-Handed. INF - 74 mph. OF - 79 mph. Short arm action with a ¾ slot, developing arm strength.
Hit: Left-Handed. Open, upright stance. Uses a long stride at times and a double toe tap at others to get his timing. Hands pull through on a flat path through extension.
Power: 76 mph exit velocity in BP. Found some barrels with a flat approach.

Body: 6-foot-0, 170-pounds. Athletic, slim frame with some wiry strength.
Defense: Full tilt player. Active feet with above average hands.
