Archer caught some eyes at the Kansas City Prospect ID Showcase in February 2012, but really took off at the 2012 Midwest Future Games. He sat 86-88 mph there, working four innings and showing feel for a curveball and changeup. He has a thin build, but works with a short, quick arm and now sits 88-89 with some late, arm-side run. His curveball has also been sharpened, sitting 74-76 with 12-to-6 action. At the Get Hits 4 Education All-Star Game in September, Archer touched 91 a couple times.
