The Hotlist: Sneak Peek At Risers In 2016 Rankings

The 2014 and 2015 Overall Rankings have been updated and the 2016 class is next. Several sophomores stood out at various offseason events and will make a climb when the rankings are updated. To whet your appetite, this week’s Hotlist gives a sneak peek at who will be making those climbs.
Tyler Benninghoff, SS/RHP, Rochurst HS, MO
Playing for one the state’s top teams, the very athletic Benninghoff stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 175 pounds. He shows soft hands, quick footwork and quick exchanges in the infield with a strong, accurate arm. He starts with a balanced set-up and wide stance at the plate. He uses a simple stride and no hand load. He has a short bat path, compact swing and bat speed, a rare trait for long-armed hitters. He repeatedly drove the ball in the middle of the field.
