Top Prospect Games - MOKAN: Left-Handed Pitchers Analysis

Prep Baseball Report-Missouri/Kansas held the Top Prospect Games - MOKAN on August 8 in Warrensburg, Missouri at the University of Central Missouri.  Nearly 40 players participated from Missouri and Kansas in the 2020, 2019 and 2018 classes.

We will break down the event position-by-position, taking a look at the left-handed pitchers today.   Players are listed below in alphabetical order.

Left Handed Pitchers

Adam Beiter LHP / Shawnee Mission West, KS / 2019

Beiter is a 5-foot-8 113-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Beiter is a strike thrower and produced swing and miss with three pitches, throws slightly across body, smooth delivery, lean frame, loose high three quarters arms lot, hides ball well, fastball at 65-68, running action, breaking ball has 1-to-7 action, late and gradual break, down in zone, change up at 60-61 mph, late sinking action.

Davis Bloom LHP / Blue Valley Southwest, KS / 2018

Bloom is a 6-foot-1 180-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Bloom’s fastball has two-seam action at 75-77 mph, commanded both sides of the plate, late life, 1-to-7 action on curveball, 61-64 mph, late action, slider at 70-71 mph, more 2-to-8 action, change up has slight arm side release, 68 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed, strike thrower with all pitches, attacks hitters, throws with regular effort in delivery, repeats, smooth tempo, short over the top release, hides ball well.

Ricky Maddock LHP / Kirkwood , MO / 2018

Maddock is a 5-foot-10 185-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class. Maddock has an over the top release, works in line down the mound, throws with some effort, leg works straight up with no rotation, creates direction towards plate, quick arm speed, fastball at 79-81 mph, occasional late running action, 2-to-8 breaking ball, 69-71 mph, change up at 75 mph, near fastball arm speed.

Ian O'Malley OF / Carthage , MO / 2019

O’Malley is a 5-foot-11 175-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. O’Malley has an over the top release, works down the mound in line, hides ball well, throws with regular effort, simple and repeatable delivery, throws downhill, fastball at at mostly 74-75 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 action, 64-67 mph, change up has occasional arm side sink, 68-70 mph, bottom of the zone.

Jake Schneider LHP / Eureka , MO / 2018

Schneider is a 6-foot-3 170-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class, committed to Central Missouri.  Schneider throws slightly across the body, has deception in delivery, throws with some effort, quick tempo in delivery, high three quarters release, aggressive down the mound, arm works, high percentage of strikes, fastball t 77-80 mph, some with running action, 1-to-7 breaking ball, tight spin, late break, mostly 65-67 mph, change up has arm side run, near fastball arm speed, 70-72 mph.
