Games for Friday April 11 and Saturday April 12

Class 5

#5 Vianney 9, Fort Zumwalt South 8
Vianney moves to 12-3 riding a fourth inning rally to get past Ft. Zumwalt South.  Mat Jones homered and picked up three RBI on the day, and Nick Allgeyer collected three hits.  Brandan Madden went 2-forfor-4 scoring a pair of runs for the Griffons.  Leroy Vaughn homered and doubled for Fort Zumwalt South.

Jefferson City 5, Blue Springs 4
Jake Pridgin's pinch-hit RBI single in eighth inning won the game for Jefferson City.  Rylie Klosterman went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead Jeff City.  Kyle Reed kept Blue Springs in the game going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.  Blaine Meyer pitched 3.1 innings with no runs on five hits and two strikeouts to earn the win for the Jays. 

Joplin 5, Staley 4
Staley had the tying run on base in the bottom of the seventh, but Tyler McGrew pitched out of the jam to give Joplin a 5-4 win over Staley.  John Oliver went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the seventh to make things interesting for Staley. Jacob Pfender and Sean Cooley each collected RBI singles, while Jordan Robben worked 4.2 innings allowing four earned runs on five hits with five strikouts and two walks.  Tyler Fancher earned the win for Joplin pitching 2.1 innings allowing three runs on nine hits and four strikeouts.  Will Sitton was 2-for-2 witha  pair of runs scored for Joplin.

Class 4

#1 Westminster 8,#2 Cape Notre Dame 4
Griffen Siebert singled in the first inning that plated two runs helping Cape Norte Dame to a 4-0 lead after a half inning.  Westminster answered with a run in the bottom half of the first when Caleb Hicks scored on a Collin Einertson single.  Westminster tied the game in the bottom of the third with a 3-run rally highlighted by a double by Hicks that scored Brett Bond.  Tyler Catlett broke the tie in the 5th with an RBI single that gave Westminster the lead for good.  Jordan Smith settled down after the first and went the distance for Westerminster, allowing just two earned runs, three hits and four strikeouts.  Ross James took the loss for the Bulldogs, giving up four earned runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
