The 2019 class in Mississippi has already shown to be extremely talented, however with several juniors having already stood out not only on a regional and state level, but also a national level. The 2019 ranking are comprised of 50 players who have shown great promise to this point in their young careers. The 2018 and 2019 rankings will be updated periodically throughout the fall and spring season, as we bring you all the detailed information regarding high school baseball in the state of Mississippi.

Coming in at No. 1 is uncommitted outfielder, Jerrion Ealy. Ealy has already established himself as a premium talent out of Jackson Prep with a medium, athletic build with present strength in frame. Hitting from the right-side he shows quality rhythm and timing, consistently barreling balls up with authority and a gap to gap approach. Ealy has also proven to be an elite runner as well, showing quick footwork in the outfield with direct routes and quality arm strength.

Mississippi recruit, left-handed hitting catcher, Hayden Dunhurst, out of Pearl River Central HS comes in at No. 2. Dunhurst has shown loose, quick hands creating slight leverage through the zone. He creates consistent line drive contact to the pull side with authority, having a present feel for the barrel. Dunhurst has also shown solid catch and throw ability, recording sub 2.0 pop times.

Austin Kelly, Mississippi State recruit, comes in at No. 3. Kelly is a left-handed hitting catcher from Washington HS that has shown solid upside, with potential to hit for power and quality arm strength proving to be a solid catch and throw guy.

Coming in at No. 4 is, Eric Newsom out of Germantown HS.  A 6-foot-3, 185-pound outfielder with present strength and projectable frame, and has displayed impressive bat speed and barrel control from the left-side.

Rounding out the top five is Mississippi State recruit, Kamren James, Desoto Central HS. A primary shortstop, standing 6-foot, 170-pounds with a lean, athletic appearance and room for added physical strength. James, a right-handed hitter, with a gap-to-gap approach has proven to handle the barrel well, impacting the ball with authority.
