The Mississippi Diamond Notes is back for 2025 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance. 

Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

Dane McElroy RHP / SS / VANCLEAVE HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2026 The junior threw 6 innings, allowing 3 hits, 0 earned runs, with 9 strikeouts in a win over East Central.

Jarrett Thomas LHP / OF / Alcorn Central, MS / 2026 Thomas threw a complete game, scattering 7 hits, 1 earned run, with 7 strikeouts in a win over Belmont.

Jackson Miller / Alcorn Central, MS / 2026 Miller threw 7 innings, scattering 6 hits, allowing 1 earned run, with 5 strikeouts in a win over Belmont.

Gage Thompson RHP / SS / Oak Grove , MS / 2025 The Jones College signee threw 6 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 run, with 9 strikeouts in a win over Pearl.

Maddox Miller LHP / 1B / Oak Grove, MS / 2025 The Mississippi State signee threw 5 innings, allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, with 8 strikeouts in a win over Pearl.

Talon Haley LHP / OF / Lewisburg, MS / 2025 The Vanderbilt signee earned our Pitcher of the Week honor after throwing 5 1/3 innings, allowing no hits, with 15 strikeouts in a win over Southaven.

Braedyn Lackie OF / Hamilton, MS / 2026 The junior threw 6 innings, allowing 7 hits, 3 runs, with 10 strikeouts in a win over Hatley.

Landon Harmon RHP / OF / East Union Attendance Center, MS / 2025 The Mississippi State signee threw 5 innings, allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, with 11 strikeouts in a win over New Site. Harmon also went 6 for 10 with 3 home runs and 8 runs batted in.

Stephen Eakes / Southeast Lauderdale, MS / 2025 The East MS CC recruit threw 3 innings with 9 strikeouts in a win over McLaurin. He also went 4 for 10 with 2 home runs and 9 runs batted in.

Jamaurion McQueen OF / OF / Brandon High School, MS / 2025 The South Alabama signee earned our Player of the Week honor after he went 7 for 10 with 3 doubles, 2 triples, 5 stolen bases, 7 runs scored, while driving in 8 runners.

Cameron Kilgore OF / RHP / Houston, MS / 2025 The senior went 6 for 9 on the week with a home run, a double, and 9 runs batted in.

Hunter Harper 1B / Vancleave High School, MS / 2025 Harper went 5 for 10 on the week with a home run and 3 runs batted in for the Bulldogs.

Martin Shaw OF / Vancleave High School, MS / 2025 The senior picked up 7 hits in 11 at bats last week for the Bulldogs with 3 runs batted in.

Rilyn Lambert 3B / New Site, MS / 2028 The freshman went 3 for 6 on the week with 2 home runs, 3 walks, and 7 runs batted in for the Royals.

Noah Canten C / ALCORN CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2025 The Itawamba CC recruit went 6 for 10 with 2 doubles, 4 runs scored, 4 stolen bases, with 6 runs batted in last week.

Cooper Bierman 3B / RHP / Lewisburg, MS / 2026 The Northeast MS CC recruit went 4 for 6 with a home run, double, 4 runs scored, and 5 runs batted in. He also threw 5 innings, allowing just 1 hit, 1 run, with 7 strikeouts in a win over Southaven.

Paxton Dobbs C / 2B / Hamilton, MS / 2026 The junior went 4 for 8 on the week with a double and 3 runs batted in for the Lions.

Isaiah Nichols 2B / OF / Hamilton, MS / 2028 The freshman picked up 2 doubles, 5 walks, 4 runs scored, and added 6 runs batted in on the week for the Lions.

Seth Welch OF / 1B / Hamilton, MS / 2028 The freshman went 4 for 7 with 4 runs scored for the Lions.

Logan Flaskamp / Southeast Lauderdale, MS / 2025 The senior went 4 for 7 with a home run and 4 runs batted in on the week for the Tigers.

Rowan Riley 2B / Southeast Lauderdale, MS / 2027 The sophomore went 6 for 7 with 3 runs batted in on the week.

	Kyron Murphy 2B / RHP / Sacred Heat, MS / 2025 The senior went 6 for 11 on the week for the Crusaders with a double and 2 runs batted in out of the lead off spot.

Aiden Tapp 2B / Vancleave, MS / 2025 The senior went 6 for 13 with 2 runs batted in on the week for the Bulldogs.

Nathan Wilson LHP / OF / SOUTHEAST LAUDERDALE HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2025 Wilson threw 5 innings, allowing just 1 hit, with 11 strikeouts in a win over McLaurin. He also went 4 for 7 on the week with 2 runs batted in.
