On Sunday, November 12, some of the top talent in Mississippi met in Ellisville, MS to compete in the PBR Mississippi All-State Games. The premier invite only event saw over fifty of the top prospects from the state of Mississippi perform in front of several college coaches, as well as the Prep Baseball Report scouting staff.

Today, Prep Baseball Report Mississippi takes a look at a few thoughts, observations and quick hits from Sunday’s All-State Games.

+ Louisiana Tech signee, 2018 OF Adarius Myers (Seminary HS) continues to displays a quality level of athleticism, posting an impressive 6.58 60-yard dash time.

+ Jones County Junior College signee, 2018 C Chance Tilghman (West Lauderdale HS) has an quick exchange and handles the ball well behind the plate with soft hands. Tilghman is an accurate thrower and posted his best pop time of 1.87, with his others ranging from 2.0-2.09, with a top velocity from the crouch of 80 mph. The right-handed hitter also showed a much-improved stroke, consistently finding barrel during batting practice.

+ Hinds Community College signee, 2018 RHP/1B Harrison Haley (Germantown HS) displayed a quick arm on the mound with a heavy fastball that jumps out of his hand, topping out on Sunday at 88 mph. He mixed in a curveball with good depth and 11/5 shape at 70-72 mph.

+ Meridian Community College signee, 2018 3B/1B Hendrix Cooley (Southaven HS) had a great round of batting practice, as he drove balls to all fields. Working from a toe tap load, with an aggressive lower half; Cooley was able to consistently field barrel with strength to the pull side, also posted a 93 mph exit velocity.

+ Pearl River Community College signee, 2018 Austen Izzio (Pearl River Central HS) had his athleticism on full display on Sunday posting one of the top 60 times of the day, a 6.61. As a right-handed hitter Izzio showed fluid rhythm with a level path, and made consistent hard contact.

+ Several unsigned seniors had quality showings as well. 2018 RHP Cameron Daniels (St. Andrews HS) works from a hig-3/4 slot with a medium, quick arm stroke. Daniels sat 81-84 mph with his fastball and showed ability to command it for a strike. The curveball had 11/5 shape with depth at 71-75 mph. 2018 RHP Sam Brooks (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) sat 77-81 with sinking fastball, also throwing a sweeping slider at 68-71 mph that showed solid lateral action. 2018 RHP/3B Landon Cochran (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) stands 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, and pitched at 78-82 with good tempo and rhythm. His curveball showed developing spin and shape at 67-68 mph. 2018 SS/OF Ryan Jackson (Ridgeland HS) also had an impressive day, making his mark in the top of several of categories from Sunday’s event. An athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame with present strength in build began the day showing athleticism posting a 6.87 60-yard dash time. Jackson continued to show well during batting practice making hard contact to the pull side also recording a 90 mph exit velocity.

+ 2019 LHP Kole Alford (North Pike HS) had a very impressive outing on Sunday. Throwing from a high-3/4 slot and regular effort in delivery, Alford sat 85-87 mph with fastball that showed good arm side run. The lefty also displayed a sweeping curveball with shape and depth at 70-73 mph.

+ 2019 OF Leo Harris (St. Martin) is another young prospect that showed intriguing athleticism. Standing 6-foot-3, 165-pounds with lean, athletic build, Harris posted a 6.72 60-yard dash. The swing is still developing, but he showed fluid rhythm and feel for the barrel making solid contact during batting practice, as well as recording a double during live game action.

+ 2019 SS/2B Tyler Ducksworth (South Jones) was another standout during the batting practice portion of the event. A right-handed hitter, Ducksworth hits from a balanced, athletic setup with a leg lift load, and fluid rhythm. He sprayed line-drives from gap-to-gap during batting practice, also showing quality arm strength on the mound touching 86 mph in his one inning on the mound.

+ 2019 Mitch Murrell (Ocean Springs HS) had a quality day on the mound. With a medium, stiff, arm stroke, Murrell was able to run his fastball up to 88 mph. Also mixing in a curveball with depth and 11/5 shape at 71-75 mph.

+ Another 2019 that had an impressive day was SS/RHP Bo Gatlin (Oxford HS). Gatlin started the day showing solid athleticism by posting a 7.01 60-yard dash time. During the defensive evaluations, Gatlin worked through balls fluidly on the infield with adequate arm strength on throws to first, recording a positional velocity of 83 mph. At the plate, the right-handed hitter showed a loose swing, and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 93 mph.
