Mississippi Scout Blog: Week 6 Games

Matt Miller
State Director

The Mississippi Scout Blog provides insider information and scouting notes from the PBR Scouting Staff during the season. This running blog will feature information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, draft prospects, and anything else that is notable. We will provide a wide range of information, including player evaluations, velocities, pop times, home to first times, and more.

Continue to check back over the course of the week, as the Mississippi Scouting Staff will continue to add scouting reports.

Thursday, MARCH 31st

+ RHP Jacob Lanier (2022) of Lake High has the stuff to help someone at the next level. The righty worked into the low 80's on Thursday with a frame that should allow for velocity increases in time. Lanier had very good feel for his breaking ball and used it in all counts.

+ LHP Talon Haley (2025) of Lewisburg will soon draw plenty of attention. The young, lean bodied lefty already shows a polished delivery and solid secondary stuff. Haley works into the low to mid 80's with his fastball but the developing breaking ball and plus change will really excite most recruiters.

+ RHP Aiden Moffett (2022) of Taylorsville was electric on Thursday evening. The Super 60 participant had some jump on his fastball working up to 95 mph. Moffet, an LSU recruit, didn't have to use his breaking ball, cutter, or change up much but when he did, it gave the numerous pro scouts in attendance the understanding of how good his secondary stuff is.

+ OF Cedrick Beavers (2022) of Taylorsville can run. The Jones College football recruit got out of the box quick on Thursday as he delivered a line drive into the right centerfield gap for a triple. Beavers also leads the Tartars in stolen bases on the season with 10.
