2019 OF James Beard (Loyd Star HS, MS) has been named this week’s Prep Baseball Report Mississippi Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performances at the plate.

In three games this week, Beard hit three homeruns, a triple, three doubles, and two singles, recording a total of 23 total bases. In game two of a doubleheader with Bogue Chitto, he hit for the cycle.

For his efforts, Beard has been named the Prep Baseball Report Mississippi Player of the Week for the week of March 4 – March 11.

5/17/2017 6-foot, 185-pound outfielder with an athletic frame. A right-handed hitter that hits from a balanced setup, smooth load, short stride, solid lower half, and balance. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm and developing strength at contact. Also posted a 4.15 second home to first.
