2024 Rankings: Uncommitted Risers

PBR Mississippi Staff

There are dozens of risers in the 2024 class, but they will all get their shine in different tweets and articles throughout the next year. The great thing about our 2024 class is the depth and projection of our large list. As our rankings continue to be updated, players are evaluated at each look and have an opportunity to make an new impression.

With that being said, weeks of hard work & research goes into these rankings. We always have our eyes on the most likely players to make the next move up. Here are some of the fastest risers in our 2024 class.

Risers in the 2024 Class

Ian Herrington RHP / 3B / West Lauderdale , MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 6-foot-4, 185-pounds. Is an intriguing right-handed arm that displays plenty of projection to the wiry, lean and athletic frame. Recently made an appearance over at the Alabama Fall Games in late August, consistently filling up the strike zone with a live fastball at 86-88 mph. Repeatable arm-action that played with an OTT arm slot, mixed in a breaking ball as a secondary offering at 68-70 mph with good depth. High upside, will continue to develop and make strides in velocity.

Topher Jones 3B / RHP / Hernando, MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 190-pounds. Fresh off a solid showing at the PBR Future Games, Jones is one that we do not see being on the market much longer. Continues to make strides in all aspects of his game across the diamond. Is one of the more toolsy prospects in the 2024 class. At LakePoint, recorded a 99.1 max EV during the Future Games workout, along with a 6.93 (60-Yard) time, a 90 mph INF velocity and can transfer the velocity to the mound as well, showing the ability to work up to 90 mph. High level follow in the class.

Drew Harrison SS / RHP / Germantown, MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Is another Future Gamer that represented Mississippi over at LakePoint this past summer. Is a toolsy prospect that emerges in the 2024 class as a top uncommitted player. Harrison also had a noteworthy performance at the Future Games, collecting a 99.5 max EV during his BP round, recording a 6.94 (60-Yard) time, an 83 mph INF velo and flashed some high quality offerings on the mound, working the fastball up to 87.6 mph. Continues to progress and make a jump in his game all around.

Jack Dye 2B / SS / Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 5-foot-7, 145-pounds. A lean and athletic middle-infielder that can fly under the radar due to his size. Dye competes at all areas of the game, is a tough out for opposing pitchers, uses a gap-to-gap approach and finds a way to get on base. Over the summer made an appearance at the Mississippi Open, recorded a 7.01 on the 60 and a 84.1 max EV, once the frame continues to develop and fill out more, look for Dye to continue to make bigger jumps in all aspects of his game.

John Whit Snopek 3B / SS / MRA, MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. Is another player in the '24 class that has made recent strides in all parts of his game. Has the ability to play any position on the field, primarily works from the left side of the infield. Made his second trip over to LakePoint this summer for the Future Games, and was also a JFG participant back in 2019. During the workout at the Future Games, posted a personal best 88.5 mph EV and had an INF velo of 79 mph. Looking for a solid junior campaign at Madison-Ridgeland this upcoming spring.

Will Howell OF / Magnolia Heights, MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 180-pounds. Has a physical, lean and athletic skill-set to the frame. Howell is a prime defender in the outfield, very comfortable and shows plenty of range all around. The Future Gamer shows plenty of juice in the bat, posting a max EV of 92.9 mph from the event. Can also hop on the mound and produce with a low-80's fastball and mixes in a 68-72 mph breaking ball as an offspeed offering. Intriguing player that is going to continue to grow and develop his game.

Camden Clark C / RHP / West Jones , MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. Still has some filling out to do to his frame, lean and athletic behind the dish. Made his Future Games debut over at LakePoint this summer and put up some impressive numbers overall. Behind the plate, the pop-times were in the 1.91-1.98 range and the velo was up to 77 mph with accurate throws to second base. Advanced body positioning on blocks. Next level upside as the body matures and develops.

Kyler King SS / OF / Picayune, MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. Uber athletic prospect that has tools in all facets of the game. Had the chance to get two quality looks at King this summer in events, the shortstop can potentially play any position on the field. Across the diamond, has been up to 84 mph with a smooth and quick arm action. Polished defender with both advanced hands and feet. At the plate, takes some aggressive hacks, posting a max exit-velocity of 89.8 mph. Also is a 6.96 runner in the 60. High level follow with next level talent.

Wes White RHP / 1B / Northwest Rankin , MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 185-pounds. Is a right-handed arm that is on the rise in the 2024 class. Projectable long and lean frame with plenty of room for additional size and strength. Made an appearance at the Magnolia State Games this summer in Clinton, MS. Effortless delivery with clean and repeatable mechanics. Worked the fastball in the low-to-mid-80's and topped out at 86 mph. Sweeping action to the breaking ball that generates weak contact at 68-70 mph. Could make potential gains in velocity as the frame continues to fill out.

Davin Lowery OF / 3B / Wayne Academy , MS / 2024

Uncommitted. 6-foot-5, 170-pounds. Is another well-rounded prospect that continues to show progress in the 2024 class. High ceiling to the frame, wiry, lean and athletic body with plenty of room for upside. Has some advanced tools with the bat and is a solid defender as well. Made it over to the Mississippi Open event this summer where we were able to get a clean look, impressed during his round of BP with a top EV of 93.1 mph and a round average of 87.1 mph. Athletic runner in the 60 with a 7.16. On the mound, showed a fastball in the low-80's, as the frame continues to fill out, should see more velo added on the mound.
