Austin Sharp
Scouting Director

With the 2021 high school baseball season in Alabama getting cranked up in just a few short days, the PBR Alabama staff has decided to go back and update and expand the 2021-2024 Player Rankings. There are many additions to all of these lists, as our staff got to see some of the top players the state has to offer at the Preseason All-State event as well as other games, scrimmages, and events over the course of the last few months. These rankings will obviously change over time, especially with the high school season set to get underway.

2021: Expanded from 165 players to 200 players

2022: Expanded from 135 players to 185 players

2023: Expanded from 85 players to 125 players

2024: Expanded from 45 players to 75 players

Let's check them out..

2021 Player Rankings

Within the Top 10, LHP Maddux Bruns (UMS-Wright) deservingly stays at the No. 1 spot thanks to a significant jump in velocity over the past year. He's been up to 97 mph with a hammer breaking ball, and will look to continue that upward trajectory this spring. LHP Brady Garcia (Spanish Fort HS) rises up from the No. 10 spot to No. 5 in this preseason update. The Alabama signee has reportedly been in the low-90's with quality secondary offerings since coming off an injury that forced him to sit out the shortened 2020 season. Other than Garcia jumping up to No. 5, the rest of the Top 10 stays the same. However, this list has been expanded to 200 players with many players being added after strong summer & fall campaigns.
