The 2025 Mississippi high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Mississippi.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons at Pearl’s Trustmark Park, in the State Tournament finals at the end of May, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Mississippi. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

2025 OUTLOOK

+ Lewisburg enters the 2025 season with high expectations following a 24-10 finish and a second-round appearance in the 7A State Playoffs last year. Despite returning just two positional starters and two pitchers, Head Coach Tyler Scholl is confident that the Patriots' depth, team speed, and pitching staff will be key components in their success.

Leading the way is senior Talon Haley (LHP/1B), a Vanderbilt signee and Super 60 participant, who will be a major two-way threat after hitting .390 last season while posting a 4-1 record with a 1.83 ERA on the mound. Junior Caden Nelson (MI, Jones College recruit and Future Gamer) is expected to be a key spark at the top of the lineup after batting .323 in 2024. Other top returners include junior Cooper Bierman (RHP/OF, Northeast MS CC recruit and Future Gamer) and junior Cade Sanders (RHP/1B, Jones College recruit and Future Gamer), both of whom will be counted on in key roles.

Coach Scholl will also look for contributions from seniors Andrew Henrichovsky (CF) and Carson Sharp (RHP), as well as juniors Garrett Latham (LHP/OF), Briley Tubbs (OF), and Colson Alexander (2B/3B). Sophomore Brady Rodgers (2B/3B) is another name to watch as the Patriots aim to reload for another deep playoff run.

Lewisburg opens its season on February 11th against Tupelo, determined to make a strong push in 2025.
