Mississippi HS Team Preview: Tishomingo County Braves

The 2025 Mississippi high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Mississippi.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons at Pearl’s Trustmark Park, in the State Tournament finals at the end of May, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Mississippi. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

2025 OUTLOOK

+ Tishomingo County enters the 2025 season with a wealth of experience, returning seven positional starters and five pitchers from last year’s squad that finished 16-14, reaching the second round of the 4A State Playoffs. Head Coach Austin Marlin will lean on his seasoned Braves as they aim for a deeper postseason run this spring.

Leading the charge are seniors Jackson Moore (CI/RHP, Northeast MS CC commit), Trey Williams (OF/SS), and Tate Williams (3B/RHP), alongside standout juniors Beau Crum (OF/C/RHP), Jacob Hall (SS/RHP), and Jevan McDuffy (INF/RHP).

Crum and Moore will power the Braves’ offense, each belting three home runs in 2024, while Crum also led all returning pitchers with 33 innings on the mound. Expect him to take on an even larger role this season, with Hall and McDuffy providing valuable support after logging double-digit innings last year.

Additional key contributors include junior Cooper Hopkins (OF) and sophomore Brooks Marlar (2B/OF), both poised to make an impact.

Tishomingo County opens its season on February 10th against Kossuth, eager to build on last year’s success and make a statement in 2025.
