The 2018 East Coast Pro Showcase takes place in Hoover, AL at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium from August 1-4. Highlights from Friday, the third day of games.

Red Sox 6, Marlins 3
Oregon State recruit 3B Cesar Valero (Foothills Composite HS, AB) was the offensive star with two hits and two RBIs. In the top of the first he started the scoring for the Red Sox hitting a changeup into the six-hole for an RBI single. In the top of the fourth he had another RBI on another single through the six-hole to extend the Sox lead to 4-2. Tre Fletcher (Trinity-Pawling School, NY) put together a good at-bat for a hard sacrifice fly RBI to left field in the eighth. Fletcher has a raw approach at the plate, but has much to work with in his gifted hands and good hand/eye. TCU recruit Tim McHugh (Commack HS, NY) followed Fletcher’s RBI with one of his own; a line drive single to right field, further extending the Sox lead to 6-2. OF Bobby Zmarzlak (Westhill HS, CT) put together several good at-bats with a pair of walks and a hard ground ball base hit up the middle. The six-foot-five, 195 pound Maryland recruit ran a 6.58 60-yard and a 4.28 down the line from the right side on a groundout to shortstop. He also showed an above average arm in pre-game I/O.
