NC 2021 Rankings Update- Newcomers

Matt Payne
Director of Scouting, PBR of NC

With the 2021 high school season just around the corner PBR North Carolina recently updated the Class of 2021 player rankings expanding to the top 275 in the state. PBR was able to run several events and scout days throughout the fall allowing players to showcase their progress. It also brought several players into the rankings for the first time. The expanded rankings feature 24 new players with 4 of them being ranked in the top 100.

The top ranked newcomer is Landon Howard (3B, Covenant Day)  at No. 55. His loud batting practice stood out at the South Charlotte Braves Scout Day and he committed to East Carolina shortly after the event. Hinson Willson (RHP/1B, Cardinal Gibbons) joins the rankings at No. 82. At 6-foot-6 he runs his fastball up to 89 mph and his bat produces an exit velocity over 100 mph.
