2022 Future Games: Team Carolina Quick Hitters - Position Players

The 2022 Future Games took place on July 27-30 at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia. The event features the top uncommitted 2024 and 2025 prospects from across the country and was attended by more than 350 colleges from across all parts of the country. 

Below we take a look at the position players from North Carolina who were part of a very talented Team Carolina club that had a ton of eyes on it throughout the event and went on to win its pool. .

Sawyer Black, OF, 2024

Committed to Liberty shortly after the event. Lean, athletic frame at 6-foot, 180-pounds. Left hand hitter with a balanced swing, hands are loose and fast with feel for the barrel. Squared balls up to both gaps in BP, top exit velocity at 94.1 mph. Barreled multiple balls in game action to center and his pull side. Also showed the ability to handle left hand pitching. Tracked a ball down in right center while playing center and made a diving catch charging in on a ball while playing right. Arm reached 83 mph from the outfield. 

Boaz Harper, MIF, 2024

5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with strength and quickness present. Switch hitter who shows bat speed from both sides. Aggressive swings with the ability to use the whole field. Posted a top exit velocity of 96.2 mph in BP with an average EV of 86 mph. Barreled a ball to deep center and made solid contact on another ball to his pull side while hitting left handed, competes throughout his at bats. Athletic defender with fluid actions and trust in his hands. Can make plays on the run and throw from a variety of angles. Arm reached 82 mph during the workout. Ran a 6.98 laser timed 60.

John McKillop, 1B/OF, 2024

Frame has length at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds. The left hand hitter made a lot of hard contact on workout day posting a peak exit velocity of 97.7 mph with an average EV of 94 mph. Dropped the barrel on some balls down and in crushing them to the right center gap. Hands have strength and quickness with his barrel staying inside and through the ball. Impressed during game action making hard contact to all parts of the field and showing the ability to handle left hand arms. Ran a 7.13 laser timed 60.

Anderson Nance, IF/RHP, 2024

Athletic frame with projection ahead at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds. Balanced, fluid swing hitting balls off the barrel to both gaps in BP. Top exit velocity at 89.1 mph with an average EV of 83.5 mph. Hands have quickness with feel for the barrel. Barreled a breaking ball to center for a base hit in game action. Athletic on the infield with arm strength across the diamond. Ran a 7.01 laser timed 60

Jason Parsons Jr, C, 2024

5-foot-11, 160-pound frame with room to fill out in the coming years. Relaxed at the plate squaring balls up through the middle and to his pull side in BP. Top exit velocity at 88 mph. Hits with a sturdy base staying balanced through the swing, hands are quick with some lift to the barrel path. LIned a ball to left and drove another ball to deep right center in game action, competes throughout his at bats. Showed ability to handle quality arms behind the plate. Arm topped at 79 mph with workout pop times in the 2.04-2.08 range. Accurate arm to second with carry to throws.

Langston Rupert, OF, 2024

Athletic frame at 6-foot, 168-pounds with room to hold added weight. Showed burst running a 6.82 laser timed 60. Hit several balls of the barrel in BP with his peak exit velocity at 91.1 mph. Hands are fast, hits with a sturdy base, back leg drives through the ball with lift to the swing path. Turned around a fastball driving it through the 6-hole and drove another ball deep to the right center gap. Speed translates to the basepaths swiping multiple bags in game action and also tracked a ball down in right center while playing center field. Arm topped at 86 mph from the outfield.
