2022 MLB Draft Review: North Carolina Prospects

The 2022 MLB Draft has come and gone with North Carolina prospects playing out as major players in the process throughout the 3 days.  In total 8 high school prospects were selected in the 20 round event.  Xavier Isaac (1B, East Forsyth HS) was the first off the board in the 1st round to the Miami Marlins.  Jackson Humphries (LHP, Fuquay-Varina) and Brooks Brannon (C, Randleman HS) also heard their names called inside the top 10 rounds.


The college prospects in the state were also well accounted for in this year’s draft.  A total of 34 prospects attending colleges or universities in North Carolina were selected.
