Recap: 2025 North Carolina Prep Baseball ProCase

On Sunday, February 9, 2025, Prep Baseball was on-site at Diamond Xtreme in Kernersville, NC, for the 2025 North Carolina Prep Baseball ProCase. This marked the seventh consecutive year that Diamond Xtreme hosted the event, providing an ideal venue for a preseason showcase of some of North Carolina's top baseball talent. The 2025 edition featured 30 players performing in front of an audience of more than 30 professional scouts.

Event Overview

The roster for the ProCase was meticulously curated by Prep Baseball scouts in collaboration with area scouts throughout North Carolina. This highly selective process ensured that professional scouts had the opportunity to evaluate players who are already on their radar or who should be considered for the 2025 and 2026 MLB Drafts. This year’s roster featured 11 pitchers and 20 position players.

The event was strategically scheduled to provide scouts with additional coverage opportunities, allowing them to attend college games, scrimmages, or workouts following the ProCase. The day began with pitchers and catchers, where catchers underwent defensive evaluations before receiving bullpens. Each pitcher then threw 15–20 pitches in front of the scouting contingent.

As the schedule transitioned to position players, athletic testing commenced using VALD Performance laser technology to measure 30-yard sprint times and 10-yard splits. Additionally, all participants underwent jump testing to assess lower-body explosiveness.

Following athletic testing, hitters participated in a live batting practice session inside Diamond Xtreme’s "big box" facility, providing scouts with a clear view of ball flight off the bat. Wood bats were used exclusively, with TrackMan technology capturing key ball flight data. Additionally, BLAST Motion sensors were affixed to each bat handle to collect swing metrics. The event concluded with defensive workouts for both infielders and outfielders.
