Outfielders

Aiden Voorhees, OF, Jack Britt HS, NC (2019)

Fast twitch player that turned in the best sixty at the Fayetteville Open with a time of 7.13.  Solid first step and line to the ball.  Speed played well while tracking balls toward the gap.  Plays through ground balls with solid hands and athletic feet.  Lands with the front side open on throws.  Long arm swing works to an over-the-top slot with average at best accuracy, topping at 69mph.  Offensively, the righty worked from a tall setup, some bat waggle leading to dropping his hands on the load with an aggressive, long stride.  Level bat path produced line drives working gap-to-gap.  Barrel awareness can improve.  Listed at 5-foot-7, 122 pounds the frame is young and has maturation left.

Josh Sadler, OF, Clayton HS, NC (2019)

Left handed hitter begins slightly open and from a tall stance.  Loads back, utilizing a long stride.  Good approach and fluid rhythm leads to a sweeping action through the zone.  Exit velocity topped at 74mph.  Some head discipline issues leads to a lack of barrel awareness.  As the head becomes more stable the hit tool will continue to increase.  In the outfield, average hands and fluid footwork leads to a positional velocity of 69mph.  Long arm stroke works to a high-3/4 slot flashing occasional accuracy.  Sixty time measured at 8.08

Jason Montague, OF, Southern Nash HS, NC (2019)

Aggressive and strong with the bat from the right side.  Exit velocity measured at 89mph.  flashed athleticism and quickness, turning in a sixty time of 7.25.  Righty starts from an athletic base and uses a leg kick to work to a long, aggressive stride.  Lower half explodes through the ball, creating a quick, aggressive bat.  Geared to pull and looking for constant extension, still has great rhythm in the swing.  Every swing is maxed out, looking to punish the baseball.  Maximizes the power in the 5-foot-6, 152 pound frame.  From the outfield, there is effort in the arm as it works from an open base and flashes occasional accuracy.  Long arm swing, rushed at times, seems stiff working to an over-the-top slot.  Positional velocity measured at 65mph.

Elijah Knight, OF, RJ Reynolds HS, NC (2019)

Quick twitch athlete that stands with a lanky, athletic nature at 5-foot-10, 145 pounds.  Right handed hitter begins from an open stance and flat barrel that loads back with a short stride.  Better than average bat speed works level through the zone creating a gap-to-gap approach.  Fluid rhythm was nullified at times with late timing.  Barrel awareness can improve with better timing.  Body suggests there is a lot of room for growth and strength.  Exit velocity topped at 82mph.  From the outfield, worked with a long arm swing to an over-the-top slot that touched 74mph.  Occasional exchange issues while playing through the ball.  Lands open, with some head whack, leaves room for improvement with accuracy.  Sixty measured at 7.68, but showed better bursts in shorter runs.

Davon Alston-Thomas, OF, Western Guilford, NC (2018)

Athletic presence listed at 6-foot, 180 pounds with a strong lower half.  Worked to be fluid with his footwork through the ball and into the throwing position.  Short, strong arm swing, with a high-3/4 slot produced some accuracy with average carry.  Positional velocity topped at 74.  Offensively, the righty has some strength, when on the barrel.  Works from an athletic stance, loads back with a short stride.  Gap-to-gap approach at times nullified by late timing.  Exit velocity topped at 86.
