Future Games Preview: Team Carolina Middle Infielders

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

The PBR Future Games is a one-of-a-kind event that will feature the best uncommitted players in the Class of 2021 and select 2022 prospects from the 40+ state coverage area of PBR.  The Future Games take place on July 31 - August 3 at LakePoint in Cartersville, GA.  Last year more than 250 college coaches from all over the country were in attendance.

Beginning on Wednesday July 31st with a full pro-style workout for the position players in attendance, the event runs through August 3rd.  Each team will play three games over the three days after the workout day.  Team Carolina will be comprised of players from North and South Carolina.

Team Carolina Preview: Outfielders

JP Cunningham 2B / OF / Lancaster, SC / 2022

Compact frame with strength and quickness present.  An athlete that will flash.  Skillful defender with plus range and plenty of carry from the left side of the field.   Has run a 6.97 sixty for PBR but we should see that time lowered as Cunningham has continued to mature since that time was recorded.

Will Marcy SS / 3B / Crossroads Flex, NC / 2021

Lanky, rangy athlete that catches and exchanges the ball with some ease.  At 6-foot-2, 165 pounds, Marcy is still maturing into the frame but he is a 7.01 runner and has posted an exit velocity of 86 mph off the bat already.

Adam Quintero SS / RHP / Piedmont, NC / 2021

A good athlete, Quintero has taken big steps forward this spring and summer.  A twitchy athlete, he has shown range to his left and right, with plenty of arm to carry any throw a shortstop may need to make.  In the box, the right handed hitter has added plenty of strength to his frame since PBR last took his measurables.
