Hub City Showcase: Statistical Analysis

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

On Friday November 3rd, Spartanburg Methodist College, a 2-year school in Spartanburg, SC hosted an intriguing showcase, dubbed the Hub City Showcase, that drew college coaches from North and South Carolina.  Thirty-six players, ranging from 2021 high school graduates through current junior college players participated in the event.

During the event, each player ran through a pro-style workout, receiving verified stats from Prep Baseball Report in a laser timed sixty, offensive exit velocity, and defensive arm velocities.  Following the workout, the players were split into three teams and faced off in a controlled scrimmage that allowed the coaches on hand to continue their evaluations while seeing live pitching.

Prep Baseball Report was on hand and will be adding players from the event to the Fall Scout Blog and the JUCO Wire later this week.  First, we take an overall look at the talent on hand, diving into the statistical analysis from the day.
