Round 1, Pick 15  Los Angeles Angels

Will Wilson SS / Kings Mountain , NC / 2016

  • Highly valued prospect out of Kings Mountain HS, choose NC State
  • Member of the Team USA College National Team in 2018
  • Below is an excerpt from his Draft Report filed by PBR's Director of College Scouting, Dave Seifert:

"2/17/19: Strong, athletic middle infielder with above average-to-plus raw power. Aggressive hitter. Takes a big swing and doesn't get cheated. Good balance, swing, load and weight transfer. Rotates to the ball very well. Plus bat speed with good strength in hands/forearms. Solid actions on the dirt, but overall was a tough look on defense with cold temperatures and rain. Showed a plus and accurate arm on a relay throw from short left-center field to the plate. His below average running speed and fringy range at shortstop may necessitate a move to the keystone in pro ball where he profiles very nicely as an everyday offensive second baseman with solid defense. Likely 1st round pick this June.
