Prep Baseball Report

Player of the Week: Khalil Watson

Brandon Hall
Mid-Atlantic Executive Director

Player of the Week nominations are submitted by High School coaches across North Carolina each week.  Along with the nominations, Prep Baseball Report is diving into box scores, talking to coaches and scouts, and attending as many games as possible.

PBR's staff sifts through the information sent in and seen by our scouts to determine the PBR Player of the Week every Tuesday.  You can see a full list of players off to a hot start in Diamond Notes, a collection of notes, stats, and highlights from the past week, published every Wednesday during the season.

For the week of May 31 - June 6, 2021, 2021 Senior Shortstop Kahlil Watson has been named the PBR of NC Player of the Week.  Kahlil has helped lead the Wake Forest Cougars to a 11-1 record, ranked No. 2 in the latest PBR/NCBCA Coaches Poll, and No. 2 in the PBR Power 25.  During the week, the Cougars won their lone game, propelled by a huge night at the plate by Watson.  Watson was 3-4 with 3 home runs, scoring 3 runs and driving in 3.  For the year, the North Carolina State commit is hitting .515 with 5 HR, 4 doubles, and 13 RBI.

Congrats to Kahlil Watson on earning the PBR of NC Player of the Week honors.
