Players of the Week: Josh Hartle & Win Scott

Brandon Hall
Mid-Atlantic Executive Director

Player of the Week nominations are submitted by High School coaches across North Carolina each week.  Along with the nominations, Prep Baseball Report is diving into box scores, talking to coaches and scouts, and attending as many games as possible.

PBR's staff sifts through the information sent in and seen by our scouts to determine the PBR Player of the Week every Tuesday.  You can see a full list of players off to a hot start in Diamond Notes, a collection of notes, stats, and highlights from the past week, published every Wednesday during the season.

For the week of May 3 – 9, 2021 PBR of North Carolina is naming co-Players of the Week.  Each of these pitchers were outstanding in their outing, working perfectly in wins.  Each arm faced solid competition and they were simply dominant.  This week’s Players of the Week are Josh Hartle (LHP, Reagan HS) and Win Scott (LHP, Ragsdale HS).

Hartle, a Wake Forest commit, was matched up in a battle of 2021 draft follows as his Reagan Raiders travelled to Glenn HS to face off with Garret Horn (RHP).  Hartle took control of his outing early, pounding the zone and inducing either soft contact on the ground or a punch out through 7 innings.  He worked a complete game, striking out 14, while throwing 76% strikes in the 76 pitch perfect game.  The perfect game was the 1st in Reagan Raider Baseball history.

Not to be outdone, Scott fired a perfect game vs. Grimsley HS.  The NC State commit fired 91 pitches in the 7 inning outing, striking out 15.  The game was tied through 3 innings, when Ragsdale put up 2 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th, giving Scott all the room he would need.
