Foard- 6  Bunker Hill- 1

The undefeated Bunker Hill Bears hosted the one loss Foard Tigers on Tuesday night in the first of their two game series this week. A win for Bunker HIll would secure the regular season conference title for the Bears.

Bunker Hill would strike first in the bottom of the 2nd. After getting a runner on, Jordan Yoder doubled to the right center gap to give the Bears a 1-0 lead. Foard threatened at times but the Bears seemed to keep the momentum after left fielder AJ Carpenter gunned down the tying run at the plate to keep the game at 1-0.

In the top of the 5th Logan Mosley hit a hard ground ball to shortstop and advanced to second on the errant throw to first base. He would advance to third on a sac bunt and then score on a Josh Swink ground ball to short, tying the game at 1-1.

Foard would take total control of the game in the top of the 6th providing run support for pitcher Lane Essary. Braxton Tramel gave the Tigers the lead on an RBI single to left. Foard would add 3 more runs on hits from Logan Mosley and Josh Harwell giving the Tigers a 5-1 lead.

Foard starter Lane Essary put together a dominant performance for the Tigers punching out 16 in 6.1 innings of work while only allowing 2 hits. The victory gives Foard a chance to win the conference when they face off again on Thursday.
