Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

As we wind down another great year, we begin to take a look back at 2018.  After drilling down into our google analytics, we have compiled a list of the twenty most viewed PBR profiles in North Carolina.  Beginning on December 17th and ending on December 30th, we will dive into the profiles that garnered the most hits in 2018.

The player profiles in PBR’s vast database received well over 7.5 million hits in 2018.  Players from each region in North Carolina drove coaches, scouts, and fans to their PBR profile to learn more.  Today we take a look at No. 18 in the 2018 countdown of the most viewed profiles from North Carolina

No. 18 – Josh Hartle

The 2021 lefthander comes in at No. 18 for the most viewed profiles of 2018 in NC.  A member of Team USA for the second straight summer, he is becoming a household name for those following high school baseball.  In the spring, the lefty showed an approach advanced beyond his years as he assumed the helm of the Raider pitching staff due to some injury/illness issues on the staff, and he did not disappoint.  Hartle is the second Wake Forest commit to make the list, as well as the 2nd 2021 graduate inside the Top 20.

Scouting Report

10.01.17
The 6-foot-3, 160-pound Hartle already possesses some polish on the mound. He pitched for Team USA’s 15U gold medal club over the summer and showed advanced command while including weak contact with a fastball that has late life and touches 84 at times. His change-up produces swings and misses and he throws it with good hand speed, mimicking the fastball. He has a loose, easy arm swing that screams projection. He is already committed to Wake Forest.
