Top Viewed Profiles of 2019

No. 2 Nick Neal

Nick Neal (1B, Randleman HS, 2019) started his big 2019 campaign with the 2018 PBR Future Games with the physical right handed hitter jumped off the page with his performance at the premier underclass event in the country.  Shortly after starting what would have been his Junior year at Randleman HS, Neal classed back to the 2019 graduating class.  As a 2019 grad, Neal attended the PBR ProCase in February and carried that performance into the spring where he helped lead Randleman to the State Championship series.

As the June Draft rolled around, Neal was considered a prospect by most clubs, eventually signing with the Toronto Blue Jays, who drafted Neal in the 11th round.  Neal's 1st year in pro ball was cut short due to an injury.  Below you can see Neal's full PBR profile and get a feel for why he comes in at No. 2 in the most viewed NC profiles of 2019.

Scouting Report

2/10/19

Walters State CC commit.  Big build at 6 foot 6, 290-pounds with athleticism and body awareness.  Classed back to the 2019 grad class.  Raw power continues to stand out.  Tall, relaxed setup from the right side. Barrel waggle before a small leg kick.  Hands are set at foot plant.  Explosive bat speed through the zone.  Loose wrist, with the bat path allowing for consistent hard contact.  Hit with power to all fields during batting practice.  Exit velocity recorded at 103 mph.  Athletic at first base with quick feet and soft hands.  Quick transfers to a long arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot.  Positional velocity topped at 83 mph.  Recorded a 4.13 in the 30-yard dash.

09.05.16
A monster that flashes athleticism and feel.  Working from a tall stance, with high hands, loads slightly down and in.  Wants to work slightly up hill through the baseball with looseness.  Future power is projectable, but the front side is leaving him at times right now.  Quickness is present, but strength plays ahead of quickness now.  Exit velocity topped at 92mph.  From the outfield, the arm is a little stiff working from slots that range low-3/4 to high-3/4, with a bit of a slingers action.  Lacked accuracy, while topping at 71mph.  Ran his sixty in 7.91 on a soft surface.
