Updated and Expanded North Carolina Class of 2021 Rankings

Continuing the coverage of baseball across North Carolina, PBR releases the updated and expanded North Carolina Class of 2021 Rankings. The Rankings expand from the top 150 to the top 200 with 57 new players added to the list.
Last week our national staff, including National Crosschecker Shooter Hunt released the Overall Rankings for the 2021 Class. Fifteen players from North Carolina landed on the national list headed by Josh Hartle (LHP, Reagan HS) who is No. 1 in the state rankings. Of the top fifteen, four remain uncommitted. At the time of the North Carolina rankings release, 53 players in the North Carolina Class of 2021 have made their commitment.
In the coming months, PBR will continue to refine the class rankings for each class currently in high school. Along with upcoming PBR Events, PBR will be talking with high school coaches across the state and beginning to cover the spring games, practices and workouts.
Inside the 2021 Rankings
Newcomers
Fifty-seven new players were added to the 2021 rankings. Outfielder Alec DeMartino tops the list for newcomers, checking in at No. 27. The UNC Wilmington commit impressed as part of the East Coast Clippers Scout Day with PBR. Physical and quick, DeMartino has a chance to continue to climb the list as his tools take hold and translate with some ease to game situations.
Garrett Moffett (LHP/OF, Wayne Country Day) and Zane Taylor (RHP, Pro5 Academy) each debut on the 2021 rankings list after having appeared in the class of 2020 rankings. Both players are committed with Moffett pledged to NC State and Taylor committed to UNC Wilmington. Both Moffett and Taylor re-classified to the 2021 rankings after the school year started.
Kaden Swaim (C, Oak Grove HS) was on the radar entering the fall season but stood out at the Upperclass Uncommitted Games in early November. A physical catcher with good bend in his hips, the arm stands out each time PBR Scouts were in to see him. As he continued to progress, the bat began to play at a higher level, creating the opportunity to enter the rankings at No. 41.
In the coming weeks, PBR will highlight several players that are new to the rankings as well as players that made a significant jump inside the rankings.

- 29 catchers made the cut in this rankings release
- 46 middle infielders are listed
- 21 corner infielders are ranked in this release
- 41 outfielders are inside the top 200
- 8 players are committed to North Carolina State, the most of any school
- 3 players in the top 25 are uncommitted
- 10 players in the top 50 are uncommitted
