Davie County HS used a big 4th inning as well as a stellar performance from Senior LHP Carson Whisenhunt to shutout RJ Reynolds. Whisenhunt worked four innings, striking out 7, and only allowing 1 hit. He also supplied some power to the lineup, hitting a towering home run to cap off the scoring in the 6 run 4th.
Davie was led offensively by Garrett Chandler with 3 hits, including a double and triple. Aaron Williams and Whisenhunt each added two hits to the attack.
Whisenhunt threw 79 pitches, 47 for strikes. In the 4th, Whisenhunt walked two hitters with two outs and the bases then loaded on a catcher's interference. A weak fly ball to left was induced to end the threat.
