Wilson Wins Dual as Western Harnett Outpaces Garner

Wilson Out Duels Banks; McLean Electric in his Lone Inning

Game Recap:
A matcup of two of the top arms in the 2019 class was dominated by Western Harnett’s Bradley Wilson,  Wilson worked into the 6th, striking out 9, without allowing any runs.  The Eagles took the win on the road by a score of 4-0.

Western Harnett scored early, tallying 2 runs in the first and in theh second.  The first inning was keyed by a lead off hit-by-pitch followed by a single from Caleb Scott.   A ground out advanced both runners for Collin Welch who singled to centerfield, scoring Noah Kessler and Scott.  In the 2nd, the Eagles started the inning drawing 3 walks.  A sacrifice fly from Wilson, helped his own cause, moving the score to 3-0.  Welch earned another RBI on a hard single to center.

Aiden Edwards worked in relief for Garner, throwing 5 innings and only allowing 1 hit.  He punched 5 and gave Garner a chance to make a late run, but the Eagles staff qwelled any advances.
