Prep Baseball NC: 2027 Player Rankings Update

Throughout the off-season, baseball players across North Carolina dedicated time to personal growth—both on and off the field. Many pursued other interests while also refining their skills in preparation for the upcoming season. As the spring approaches, Prep Baseball NC has had the opportunity to evaluate over 300 athletes from across the state through various Prep Baseball events. These events provided players with a platform to measure their off-season progress using advanced stats and metrics while competing alongside some of the top prospects in North Carolina.

As the focus shifts to the highly anticipated spring season, the Prep Baseball NC scouting staff has meticulously reviewed reports, statistics, evaluations, and video footage from the off-season and preseason. With the season now underway, it is the perfect time to update North Carolina’s Player Rankings.

2027 Player Rankings

Building Momentum

The 2027 class is beginning to garner increased attention, with a major turning point coming on August 1st. As college coaches finalize their 2025 recruiting class and actively engage with the 2026 class, the Prep Baseball NC scouting staff is working diligently to gather comprehensive evaluations on the 2027 prospects. This preparation will be crucial for their exposure period in the summer and the contact period that follows.

Preseason events and off-season scouting coverage have resulted in notable shifts within the 2027 rankings. A new No. 1 player emerges as Connor Salerno returns to North Carolina and now attends Sun Valley High School. With Salerno and Jacob Seamon, North Carolina now boasts two players ranked inside the Overall Top 10 following the fall rankings release.

While the 2027 class features high-caliber talent at the top, its depth is equally impressive, making it an enticing group for college coaches and scouts. As the spring and summer seasons unfold, expect a broad range of players to gain significant attention. Prep Baseball NC will continue to provide in-depth scouting reports, player notes, and highlights throughout the year.

Ranking Adjustments

As the spring season kicks off, the 2027 rankings have undergone several changes. The rankings have expanded from the Top 150 in North Carolina to the Top 200, reflecting the growing talent pool. While this update is a relatively minor adjustment compared to future revisions, the off-season development of many players warranted a fresh evaluation.
