Bubba Day SS / RHP / Skutt Catholic, NE / 2027
Dominated both sides of the ball, earning top performance honors at the 2025 Nebraska Preseason All-State. He reached 93.3 mph on the mound and 101.1 mph off the bat. Improved his 60-yard dash from 7.19 to 6.83 seconds with a 1.67 10-yard split. His combination of projectability, athleticism, and skill keeps him at the top of a loaded 2027 Nebraska class.

Markus Chandler 3B / RHP / Omaha Westside, NE / 2027
Continues to impress with major gains since the August Super Sophomore Games in KC. His fastball jumped 5 mph to sit 89-90 mph, with the highest effective velocity of the event at 89 mph. His CB has improved with tighter, more distinct break, and he remains a high-pitchability guy. Also saw significant gains at SS, lowering his 60-yard dash from 7.31 to 6.90 and improving arm strength to 88 mph. Expect another big season from the Westside product.

Kowen Rader RHP / OF / Adams Central, NE / 2027
A long, projectable frame with an 87-89 mph fastball, but the real story was his offspeed pitches. His slider reached 80 mph with a short, tight break, while his splitter (79.6 mph) showed late tumble. Both pitches have the potential to generate significant swing-and-miss. While he has two-way ability, his higher projection is on the mound.

Samuel Schroeder C / OF / Grand Island Northwest, NE / 2027
Another standout event for Schroeder, who remains one of the top 2027 position players. At 6’1", 206 lbs, he brings a physical presence with quick-twitch athleticism, running a 6.96 60. Showed rotational power and consistency at the plate with a 96.2 mph max exit velocity (95.2 avg). Defensively, he adds value with versatility—78 mph arm behind the plate (1.93-2.07 pop times) and 86 mph from the outfield. Despite an older lineup returning for the Islanders, he has the talent to push for playing time.

Gideon Novotny SS / RHP / millard west, NE / 2027
Novotny made a significant jump on the mound from the August Super Sophomore Games, increasing his fastball velocity by 8 MPH and topping out at 88.2 with carry through the zone. He has a long, athletic frame and flashes two-way potential. Given Millard West's strong track record of developing arms, Gideon is poised to be a key contributor this season.

Griffin Minderman SS / RHP / Papillion LaVista South , NE / 2027
One of the top defenders in the 2027 class, Minderman started at shortstop as a freshman for PLVS in 2024. He increased his throwing velocity across the infield from 83 to 91 MPH, added muscle mass, and improved his physical presence at the plate, posting a max exit velocity of 96.6 MPH. He also lowered his 60-yard dash from 6.96 to 6.88. Griffin has positioned himself near the top of a loaded shortstop group in his class.

A top LHP in the 2027 class, he is expected to contribute on both sides of the ball for Millard South in 2025.

|
Bryson Rhodes OF / 2B / Lincoln East High School, NE / 2027
Rhodes was electric from the start, posting event-best times in the 60-yard dash (6.52) with elite 10- and 30-yard splits (1.58/3.64) and reaching a top run speed of 21.3 MPH. At the plate, he showed explosive hands and pull-side power, maxing out his exit velocity at 98.2 MPH. With East's deep lineup, expect Coach Lanik to find ways to maximize Rhodes’ elite athleticism this season.

Chase Neneman RHP / SS / Gretna East, NE / 2027
Up 10 pounds since an October ID event, Neneman continues to add strength as his quick-twitch body matures. His offseason work paid off with a 4 MPH increase in fastball velocity (now 88 MPH), infield velocity rising from 85 to 88 MPH, and an improved 60-yard dash time of 7.13. With Gretna East primed for another deep run in Year Two, Chase will be a major factor in their success.

|
Matthew Gorman 1B / LHP / Papillion LaVista South, NE / 2027
Gorman has grown taller and added five pounds since his last showing at the Super Sophomore Games in Kansas City. His biggest gains came on the mound, increasing his fastball to 87 MPH with high spin (2375 RPM), establishing himself as one of the top LHPs in the state.
