With the 2016 spring season starting today for some Nebraska teams, PBR Nebraska is eagerly anticipating bringing the best High School Baseball coverage throughout the entire state. This spring and summer will give PBR Nebraska the chance to cover breakout performances, college commitments, and start putting together our list of the top 2017, 2018, and 2019 prospects.

Today, we look at five teams with top talent leading into the 2016 season.

The
Creighton Prep Blue Jays are backed by tradition and led by six seniors who have signed to play college baseball. Offense will be led by Iowa Western recruit- Brandon Bena and Kansas recruit- Brett Vosik. On the mound, they are poised with one of the states best left-handed pitchers and Nebraska-Omaha recruit- Zac Zagozda. They are also backed by some young talent with 2017 right-handed pitcher- Josh Culliver and 2018 catcher- Owen Richter.

Millard South made a run all the way to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, NC. The team will be led Jonah Ulane- Kansas commit, Jake Boryca, Mike Brown- Nebraska-Omaha commit and 2nd team All-State, and Calvin Rudolf who recently signed with Nebraska-Kearney. The team will also showcase talented 2018 short-stop, Drew Gilin, who last year was the first freshman that had started for Millard South's coaching staff.

Millard West has always had some of the states top talent. Biggest question for 2016? Can the Wildcats finally pull out a state championship? Arkansas recruit, Cole Stobbe has a chance to be the highest high school draft pick since Buddy Caryle, who was taken in the second round. The Wildcat line-up will also feature one of the top 2017 prospects in Garrett Kocis and 2018 Nebraska commit- Colby Gomes.

Out west, the Grand Island Islanders have the talent to make another run to the State Tournament. With Creighton recruit- Parker Upton and North Dakota recruit- Trey Kissack leading the way, they also have strong talent with Ryan Krolikowski and Alec Lee. 2018 Shay Schanaman- INF/RHP, also has a chance to be one of the next top prospects to come out Grand Island along with 2019 up and comer Sam Wibbels.

2015 Nebraska High School Spring Champion Omaha Westside will once again have one of the states top two-way talents with Tulane recruit, Mitchell Hagen. They also return 2015 2nd team All-State selection and Wayne State recruit Aiden Breedlove and left-handed pitcher- Mitch Francis.
