PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Mason: I chose Creighton because I felt like I would fit in there with how they develop their pitchers. Their philosophy seems to cover my weaknesses so I felt it was going to be the best place for me to develop. Creighton is also a high tier academic school, which was also a drawing factor for me. Playing at TD is also a big bonus.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Mason: There wasn't really one big thing that pushed my decision to commit and later sign at Creighton. More a multitude of things that all made me decide that Creighton is where I wanted to be and play baseball in the future.
PBR: When do you report to school? What are you doing this summer to prepare for your first fall

Mason: I have no idea when we report, but since I haven't heard anything I'm about 99% sure it's at the beginning of the school year. To get prepared for the fall, I have been playing Summer travel ball with the Mid-south Prospects, the Nebraska prospects summer team, and I'll be doing a tournament or two with the Oklahoma Drillers organization as well.
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Mason: I have had so many people help me throughout the years to get me to where I am today, it would be nearly impossible to just select one. Every single coach I have ever had has taught me a little bit to help me improve my game. Of course my family and teammates have also been just as crucial by always supporting me throughout my baseball journey.
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Mason: I really didn't have any expectations for the recruiting process because I was getting recruited at a strange time with Covid. I really had no idea what to expect, especially with coaches not being able to come out and watch players for a solid amount of time. It was so untraditional that I wouldn't call it easy or hard, rather just different.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Mason: My most memorable baseball memory by far has to be this past year when Millard West won the state tournament. The whole tournament was so surreal with all the fans and students there. The atmosphere was absolutely electric the entire tournament.
PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Mason: The best player I have ever had to pitch against was Cam Collier. We played his team in a tournament at LakePoint last fall and he flipped a 94 MPH fastball down the line for a double like it was nothing.
