As the 2016 calendar year winds down, we will countdown the top 10 profiles viewed  in Nebraska in 2016. Today is 2016 Futures Games Participant Shay Schanaman of Grand Island High School.

2016 Future Games- 5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #185 ranked 2018 in PBR Overall. Well built, athletic frame, with present strength. Schanaman ran a 6.9 60, was 86 mph across the infield, and recorded an 89 mph exit velocity at event. Leg kick trigger, loses posture in swing, slight uphill path, aggressive swinger, shows above avg. pop in bat, triple to oppo gap. Plays on balls of feet, light, moves athletically. Glove works; funnels early occasionally. Above avg. carry on throws with accuracy to bag. Easy actions on mound, repeats well, and shows ability to play catch with glove. Pie arm action with upright release. Fastball has solid life at 85-86 mph with varying cut and run. Above avg. curveball, with sharp break, thrown at 74-76 mph.

May 2016- 5-foot-11, 180-pound shortstop/RHP stood out as the top two-way player at the event. He ran a top 6.9 60 yard sprint. At the plate, has an athletic set up, leg kick stride and compact line drive swing. Mature actions in the field with good feet and a strong 87 mph arm across. One the mound, showed a loose, two-piece arm action with some effort. Sat 87-89 mph with his fastball, topping out at 90 mph. Also showed a hard spinning 75-77 breaking ball with good depth and tilt and feel for 72-73 mph changeup.
